Chihuahua with questions!

What is a Housecall Vet and why would I want one?

A housecall veterinarian differs from a traditional veterinarian in that the vet comes to your home to care for your pet. That's where the difference ends. At Unleashed Mobile Veterinary Services we offer all of the services you would find at a traditional practice, but we come directly to you.

What are the advantages to using mobile veterinary services?

  • Offers all the surgical and diagnostic potential of a conventional practice without the client's inconvenience of transporting screaming cats, or drooling dogs.

  • Enables the doctor to more efficiently diagnose and treat husbandry issues.

  • Offers comfortable hospice/geriatric care to aging pets, without frequent visits to a veterinary office, and additional related stressors.

  • Offers peaceful, at home euthanasia.

  • Can care for the entire household of pets in one or two visits.

  • Caters to fearful or fractious animals whom react negatively to the stress of transportation and a new environment.

  • Accomodating schedule with weekend and evening appointments available.

  • Convenient prescription and nutriceutical delivery.

Many pets do not like traveling to see the veterinarian. The car ride is unnerving, as is being in an unfamiliar envionment with strangers. Pets may express their displeasure in a number of ways including: urinating in the car, vomiting, becoming anxious or aggressive, and hiding either in advance or after the trip.

By seeing the pet in its normal household environment, we can reduce the stress of everyone involved. The pet is in familiar surroundings, and often that means less struggling and less stress for the pet and the veterinarian alike. This is especially true for cats, which don't tend to enjoy a car ride at all.

At Unleashed we offer extensive canine and feline hospice programs for aging, sick, and debilitated pets. The advantages of at home hospice/geriatric care are innumerable. Often aging or sick animals need frequent trips to the veterinarian for diagnostics, treatments, etc. The stress can often be taxing to their already weakened bodies. In addition, they are unnecessarily exposed to sick animals in the waiting room of a traditional practice.

We believe that the greatest gift we can give our aging companions is comfort. At home geriatric and hospice care provides stress free care in the place your pet is most comfortable.

Unleashed Mobile Veterinary Services is Convenient!
relaxing with my dog
Since the veterinarian comes to you, you don't have to load your dog(s) or cat(s), or both into your car and transport them to a clinic. If you have multiple animals it's easier and more convenient to have everyone in the house cared for in one visit.

You don't have to wait in an uncomfortable waiting room. You don't have to find creative ways to entertain your children in the doctor's office, or try to block out the screams of the children sitting next to you in the waiting room.

Michigan Mobile Veterinary Services is better for your pet's health
Veterinary offices are full of sick animals, that's self-evident. Many viruses, bacteria, and parasites can survive in veterinary hospitals without thorough disinfecting. With a mobile practice, you don't have to worry about your pet picking up something from the animal who was sitting in the waiting room just before you.
